Our Leadership

While Place One employs exceptional outside management for guidance, like all condominiums, community governance is owner controlled. Place One has a Board of Directors, as well as several standing committees to manage its affairs.

Board of Directors

Place One is governed by a five-member Board of Directors with staggering terms. Depending on the term, Directors are selected at the Annual Meeting of Owners each November. The Board meets monthly based on a pre-determined schedule. Changes are announced in advance. In addition to the Board, there are five officers. At its organizational meeting, the Board elects officers. In most cases, the officers are Directors. However, the Secretary and Treasurer are not required to be Directors. The role of each officer as outlined in the Association’s By-laws is described below.

President

The President serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Council and presides at all meetings of the Council and of the Board. He/she has the responsibility of carrying out the directives of the Board and administering the affairs of the Council, including, but not limited to, the power to appoint committees from among the CO-Owners subject to Board approval and as appropriate to assist in the conduct of the affairs of the Council.

Vice President

The Vice President takes the place of the President and performs those duties whenever the President is absent or unable to act. If neither the President nor the Vice President is able to act the Board appoints some other member to do so on an interim basis. The Vice President is the Board’s liaison to the Committees. The Vice President also performs other duties from time to time as assigned by the Board.

Secretary

The Secretary keeps the minutes of all meetings of the Board and the Council; he/she has charge of such books and papers as the Board may direct and performs all the duties incident to the office of Secretary.

Treasurer

The Treasurer has the responsibility for Council funds and is responsible for keeping full and accurate accounts of all receipts and disbursements in books belonging to the Council. He/she is responsible for periodic reporting to the Board and Council on the status of financial affairs.

Director-At-Large

The Director-at-Large serves as the Board’s representative to Community gatherings and organizations where the Board determines a Place One presence is required. The Director-at-Large is also responsible for special projects as may be assigned.

Committees

Place One committees are staffed with community volunteers; each committee has a specific charter as outlined in the Policy Statement on Committees. Committees elect their own officers for a one-year term at organizational meetings which normally occur a few weeks after the November Annual Meeting of Owners. Residents are encouraged to volunteer.
